"Kari served as my mentor for three separate plays that I directed throughout high school. Her advice saved each and every production I oversaw. At times, as a newer director, it can be overwhelming taking on such a large commitment. Personally, I was prone to getting bogged down by details and freaking out over every little issue that came up. Kari taught me how to manage this extreme angst and channel my often wild energy into directing. She helped me with planning and scheduling, with organizing my jumbled thoughts and putting them into practice. She often asked me questions about myself, my directing habits, and the play at hand that made me think more deeply than I likely would have without her. Kari’s wisdom, patience, and light really made me into the director I am today.”
